About Us



Dr. Ravindra G. Sapkal, Chairman, Kalyani Charitable Trust, Mumbai, had a splendid vision of providing education and ample opportunities to the children and youth of India to excel globally in different professions.

His dream included providing globally acknowledged education to the children and adults enabling them to pursue diverse careers and contribute to the national development of this incredible country India. June 2006 marked the first milestone for Kalyani Charitable Trust with the successful establishment of Orchid International School (OIS), a co-educational residential cum day boarding school which has a scenic campus at Anjneri Hills, Nashik in Maharashtra. OIS witnessed great success in imparting challenging, meaningful and internationally recognized education to children.

After the roaring success of the OIS, the Orchid group announced formation of Sapkal Knowledge Hub – an integrated educational complex providing school,graduate and post-graduate education for excellence. Pharmacy, Engineering and Management are some of the programmes have been envisioned to promote competitive education & help gain access to information, training and resource.

The Sapkal Knowledge Hub encompasses over 110 acres of scenic and beautiful natural setting of hills and valleys and world class infrastructure. The campus is self –sufficient and conducive to 360 degree development of its students.

The Kalyani Charitable Trust had started the Late G.N.Sapkal College of Engineering in 2009 as one of the institutes of Sapkal Knowledge Hub and providing high quality education and training to meet the emerging needs of the Industry.

Late G.N.Sapkal College of Engineering is located within Sapkal Knowledge Hub, situated about 20Kms from Nashik Road Railway Station, 16Kms from Central Bus Stand (CBS) and 30Kms from Airport towards Trimbakeshwar.

The Institute provides a distinctive excellence driven engineering education that will groom future generations of engineers and entrepreneurs. It has been established with intake 240 and presently offers undergraduate & post graduate courses with annual intake of 660 and 78 respectively.


Faculty

We have a very competent and dedicated core faculty team. In addition to their excellent teaching, the faculty members are actively involved in research and consultancy.

Degree Academic Development of the students by following schemes :

1) Overall Personality Development
The Institute believes that along with imparting technical knowledge, for a competent Engineer, the values making them a worthy contributor are also essential. We are running over all personality programme to achieve following objective.

1) Improve the overall personality of the student
2) Inculcate other personality traits such as Technical skills, Communication skills & General awareness etc.
3) Introduce courses which complements Engineering learning.

2) Interactive Teaching learning process:
We offer effective Interactive teaching learning with personal attention. It is also encourages students to interact with the faculty in a more confident manner. Weightage is given to assessment by subject teacher. This includes class test, home assignments, attendance and involvement of student in interactive Teaching-Learning process.

Lesson Plan
Teaching schedule of each subject is as per well-defined Lesson Plan.

Teaching aids
All class rooms are equipped with LCD Projectors and Internet connections. Classrooms have Public address system wherever necessary. The use of such advanced teaching aids will increase the student involvement in theory and practical sessions.

Remedial Teaching for First Year
Remedial Teaching for difficult subject of each semester and its objectives are :

1) Revise some important topics
2) Address Queries of Students
3) Give some additional guidance to slow learner students
4) Academic Counselling

Home assignments
Self-study culture is promoted amongst students through a self-study component at the end of each unit. Home assignments are designed on self-study component weekly, ensuring self-study throughout the Semester. For enhancing practical skills and providing hands on experience, a Semester project is also included.

Tutorials
The purpose of emphasizing on tutorial is to offer a true tutor services to the students. Tutorials are combination of theory and demonstration sessions on batches rather than complete class. It is very helpful for students as the teacher can give one to one attention for problem solving or conceptual understanding of the subject.

Continuous Assessment through Formative and Summative Assessment
Students are assessed continuously through Formative assessments like Class test, Home assignments, Teachers Assessment, Tutorials, Mid-semester examination and Summative assessment through End-semester Examination, which ensures that students are engaged into studies throughout the Semester.

Online examination and Test exam
Online examination system of Pune University is being practices internally for first and second year students. Internal test are conducted at regular intervals and parents are reported about the progress and attendance of the ward regularly.

3) Academic Prizes and Awards scholarships :
Merit and extra-ordinary merit, must be recognized, respected and duly honoured. This creates a healthy competition amongst the students and acts as a foundation of encouragement, and an admirable example for others to follow. The management has introduced “Shri.GambhirraoSapkal meritorious scholarship “scheme which can offer concession in college fee up to 50% for meritorious students of FE to BE.

4) Teacher – Guardian Scheme :
To address academic and other issues of the students, faculty members play a vital role. For a typical class, a class teacher and a supporting faculty is appointed as guardian. This faculty handles all academic follow-up such as attendance monitoring and meeting with parents and sending report to them etc. and also other issues such as academic counselling

5) Continuing educational program such as Seminars/Workshops/Conferences for quality Improvement.
We take proactive measures to organize training programs to faculties to update with the new development in different technology sectors and facilitate them to develop proficiencies in newly introduced courses. We sponsor faculties to participate in short term courses, seminars, conferences and workshops getting organized in other institutions.

6) Industry Exposure through Industrial Visits :
Industrial visits are arranged regularly to bridge the gap between industry and institute.

7) Training & placement activities:
The college has given due importance to this activity right from its inception .The college provides communication skill training right from first year. The corporate training of one week is organized every year to third year& final year students, which includes reasoning skill, group discussion, soft skill, aptitude &company specific skills. The college has appointed full time training placement officer. The college provides 100% placement assistance to students.

8) National Service Scheme (NSS) :
NSS are very useful to the society as a whole and, also helps students to develop all round skills which are extremely useful in this extra competitive world. The highlights of lastfour years are :

9) Earn and Learn Scheme :
The main objective of the scheme is to develop a student as a multifaceted personality with academic excellence and a commitment to an egalitarian society. This scheme is basically undertaken for the benefit of students coming from the rural areas, and who are economically poor but intelligent and meritorious, cannot afford higher education. It inculcates in the student the idea that no work is big or small and develops a work culture with the right aptitude.

10) Technofest : A Technical Festival
As an engineering student, the candidate has to be involved in more and more studies. In order to learn something more apart from the theoretical knowledge, the students can enhance their knowledge by participating in technical and cultural fests organized by colleges.

The purpose of doing so is multiple. Firstly, it helps the academic institutions to bring together the students across the country. Secondly, this promote innovative ideas and allow students to share their knowledge and ideas with other students. Thirdly, attending these festivals gives information on the different fields of study. Sports events, quizzes, seminars, Designing and Modelling activities etc.

11) Astitva :
Cultural activities like drama, dancing and singing also feature in the life of a SKHstudent. The annual cultural festival,Astitva, is held in February. It is a two-day event, featuring games, exhibitions, competitions and musical concerts.This college festival are organized, managed and conducted entirely by the students of college. Apart from cultural and technological activities, students actively involve in various 'social outreach' activities.

12) Inspire :
We are organizing “INSPIRE” program sponsored by Department of Science &Technology,Government of India, to encourage research in basic sciences for students from Std. XI every year.

13) The Career Guidance Cell :
The institute contributed Career guidance cell for 12th science students of Nashik, Ahmadnagar, Dhule, Jalgaon & Nandurbar district. Career guidance is given in preparing to CET Exam and selection of courses in engineering, etc.

The mock test of CET is conducted every year for students before two weeks of state government CET Exam.Toppers are given prizes.

14) Transport facility :
We provide transportation facility from nasik to campus for the students with affordable fare. The MSRTC buses towards trimbakeshwar are frequently arrive at the institute from all the areas of Nashik City& vice versa.

15) Result :
Recently university of Pune has declared result of Exam MAY/JUNE2015 Final year B.E. students .The result of our college first batch is 100% in all the branches & more than 50% students passed with first class with distinction remaining student pass in first class.
